Dexterity and Vitality limits: Dexterity caps at 495 and Vitality maxes at 999. Some classes have skills that acommodate both so the two damage options are viable. I find that while the setup is fairly complex to look at with 6 buttons for active skills, it works out fairly easy to run efficiently needing only the mouse buttons 1,2 and 3, woth 4 being my heal bot which stays up quite a while and 5 being my gunbot which is on a long cooldown, the rest of the work is being done by passives. Focus is the second best damage opiton but is only very good if the class relies heavily on non 'DPS' based Flat damage skills. It shows an increase in weapon DPS in the character page but this kind of bonus does not increase the base power of DPS-based skills.Level 22 engineer using great weapons using flame hammer, the stomp that slows and burns enemies, spider mines and force shield, i also use the gunbot and healing bot which i have upgraded to return mana to users, got a bunch of passives to generate charges and shields and the passive that increases attack speed, lately ive been putting points into the passive that heals you when you consume charges. 15 Seismic Slam (Emberquake builds only for levelling) 15 Force Field. And the 1H+shield passive the Engineer has is actually very terrible, it's as if the stat it gives (+X Physical Damage, exactly like a weapon gem) works several steps later in the damage calculation than it's supposed to, it sucks. Your choice of skills when playing this Engineer build should be as follows with your final build including: 15 Flame Hammer OR Emberquake. You get actual defenses from equipment (+HP is the best stat, stack a bunch of it, +Armor and +Vit aren't as good).Īlso, 1H+shields aren't actually as important as people might say for Engineers, because an obscure mechanic thing is that while you have Forcefield on, you don't even roll for blocks, it always drains the Forcefield anyway, so 2Handing as Engineer is totally legit. (But Emberquake also does flat damage, so Emberquake is strongest with Focus)Īlso, you never put Vit in this game unless you want the higher shield block chance it gives, its other bonuses are surprisingly crap. If a skill deals only weapon-based damage, then Strength and Focus can raise it in the same rate, but Strength also gives a crit damage multiplier on top of it, so Strength can help its damage more. I have a level 100, dual wielding engineer that uses emberquake/forcefield spam currently on NG+++ and even on elite difficulty, I can destroy content by myself. If a skill deals only flat damage, then it obviously only wants Focus (and may even have reduced crit chance inheritance pure Focus is even better than Focus+Dex). If you want to be 'da best', a prismatic bolt embermage build with an emberquake/focrefield engineer would essentially remove all challenge from the game. And Focus also gives a little bonus to max mana. ![]() ![]() So you're boosting the base damage of both parts of Emberquake if you pick Focus and use an elemental weapon. Flat damage always scales with Focus, and weapon-based damage can be raised by putting either Strength or Focus to boost your weapon (in the same rate for both Strength and Focus, with the catch being that Strength helps all the damage from your weapon while Focus only helps the weapon damage that is elemental). To create this build I took in consideration the arguments from Omnisciurus who wrote. For these reasons Im writing a new build for the berseker class. Also, auto-attackers builds are not very effective for elite. This is because Emberquake unusually does both weapon-based damage and flat damage. 1 - INTRODUCTION: It is considered by all guide and build writers that a shield is a must for playing elite for almost all builds. But Emberquake works the best if you do pure Focus and use elemental melee weapons for it (which are very common later). SynergiesMOD is a full conversion mod for Torchlight 2, adding alternative leveling dungeons, New monster types (Elite, Hero, Rare Dragons, Ancient Trolls and World bosses), 3 new classes (Necromancer, Warlock, Paladin). ![]() You can do Engineer with either Str+Dex or pure Focus.
